Behavioral Health Utilization Specialist

Position Title: Behavioral Health Utilization Specialist 

Location: Fort Collins, CO

FSLA Status: Salaried/Exempt 

Position Status: Full Time, 40 Hours per Week

Position Summary:  You will collaborate with the treatment team to ensure admission and continued stay criteria have been met and service authorization is obtained. Complete pre-authorization forms after review of clinical information for medical necessity. Coordinate authorization calls between payers and treatment team. Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management department to understand billing and coding practices and processes, for reimbursement and payment of services rendered. Monitor referral patterns and make recommendations on strategies to contain costs, improve access and ensure quality care. Collaborate as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Contribute actively and effectively with the medical provider, clinical staff, case manager and other members of the healthcare team to ensure appropriate plans of care, along with appropriateness of services being rendered.

Wage Range: Unlicensed Therapist - $41,634.51 to $60,370.05; Licensed Therapist $48,074.17 to $72,111.25.

Requirements: 1 - 3 years minimum of directly relevant experience in inpatient utilization management in behavioral health, care coordination and/or case management for high-risk populations. Master's Degree or license in Human Services field from accredited College or University or equivalent experience. CAS or LAC required

Preferred- Bilingual/Bi-cultural. Colorado Clinical Mental Health License (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) preferred
